Tobin Lehman
Planting Pastor
Tobin Lehman serves as the Church Planting Pastor of New Market Baptist Church. He came to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 30, when God graciously opened his eyes to the gospel and transformed his life. Since that time, the Lord has faithfully shaped him through His Word, conforming him more and more to the image of Christ. The impact of the gospel extended beyond his personal life, leading him to reorient his business and vocational pursuits toward serving Christ and advancing His kingdom.
In 2020, Tobin sensed God's call to pastoral ministry and began preparing for that work through formal theological training. He pursued a Master of Divinity degree from Bob Jones University, completing the program in the spring of 2026. In 2024, he joined the staff of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served while receiving pastoral mentoring, ministry experience, and preparation for church planting. Through that process, he was selected and commissioned to serve as the church-planting pastor for New Market Baptist Church.
Tobin and his wife, Jennifer, have been married for twenty years and are blessed with six children. Their family includes two adopted children from Lithuania who have special needs, a testimony to God's grace and faithfulness in their lives. As a husband, father, pastor, and church planter, Tobin's desire is to help people know Christ, grow in His Word, and faithfully follow Him as disciples.
His passion for ministry is summed up in the mission of New Market Baptist Church: to magnify Jesus Christ, mature in the faith, and minister to the lost in New Market and beyond.

Our Sending Church
Grafting from good roots
New Market Baptist Church was prayerfully sent out of Calvary Baptist Church of Westminster MD, with the desire to establish a faithful gospel witness in New Market and the surrounding communities. While we are an independent Baptist church with our own leadership, mission, and future governance, we are thankful to have been planted from a healthy church body that has encouraged, supported, and invested in this work from the very beginning. This partnership reflects a biblical pattern of churches sending and strengthening gospel ministry for the spread of Christ’s name.
Although New Market Baptist Church is not governed or controlled by Calvary Baptist Church, we continue to enjoy an ongoing relationship marked by counsel, encouragement, fellowship, and shared commitment to the truth of God’s Word. We are grateful for the wisdom, accountability, and spiritual support that comes from this partnership, and we count it a blessing to remain connected in friendship and ministry as two churches laboring together for the gospel in Maryland.
